1969
THE BEGINNING
Mike is born in Courtney Selous Street, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
As a toddler, Mike is often left in a cardboard box, tucked under a tree, while his father, Pete Kibble, hunts tuskers to pay for a pram!
1975 - 1987
GROWING-UP
Mike’s youth years are strongly influenced by his grandfather, Fred Bartlett, who personally takes him under his wing and teaches him the ropes in the safari business. Strict codes of ethics are applied.
1988
PROFESSIONAL HUNTER
Mike receives his official registration with Namibia’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism as a professional hunter, guiding clients on hunting and photographic safaris.
1990
PILOT
Obtains his private pilot’s licence.
1993
DANGEROUS GAME HUNTER
Qualifies as one of only a few dangerous game professional hunters in Namibia. Attends Master measurer courses for Rowland Ward and SCI.
1994
BOW HUNTER
Qualifies as bow hunting guide.
1995
SONJA
Meets his future wife Sonja, his partner in the safari business.
1998
WEDDING
Marries Sonja with the birth of daughter Cara Samira (in 1999) and son Alec Frederic (in 2001). Cara is a qualified natural scientist and accomplished cook who loves to spoil our guests with deserts and Alec is a commercial pilot and crack shot who also guides our clients.
1999 - 2012
ON SAFARI
Guiding safaris and hunting extensively in Namibia.
2012 - 2017
DANGEROUS GAME CONCESSION
Operates a dangerous game concession area in the Zambezi/Kavango region (former Caprivi).
2018 - Today
FURTHER AFIELD
Expands the operating area to South Africa, Cameroon, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. To this day, we still treat our clients to the best Namibia has to offer: wide open spaces, clean air, safe, excellent hunting and photographic opportunities.
